The community was at a loss when 9 year old Za'Laiya Jenkins was shot and killed in her home earlier this year. Violence has stricken our community in more ways than one and we as a city want to see it stop. Today DTA team member Brandon Robinson presented the mother of Za'Laiya with a handmade card created by the children and staff of the Pieper-Hillside Boys & Girls Club. Brandon offered words of comfort by telling Za'Laiya's mom "we are praying for you". A monetary donation was made by the Hillside families and staff of the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee. DTA cares and it shows. Thank you to Coach and President of DTA Robert Jackson for showing support to the mother.
